Biography

Krishna Venkatesh started his career as a member of the nineties cult electronic band Think Tree (Virgin UK) with multiple tours in Europe including performances with Nine Inch Nails, Siouxsie and the Banshees and Ministry.

He has worked in the recording studio with such legends as Joe Strummer (The Clash), Herbie Hancock, Nile Rodgers and Blue Man Group.

His commercial and TV credits include compositions for MTV Networks, HBO, Miller Beer, Budweiser, Pontiac, Maybelline, TLC and many others.

He is also a remixer working on under the pseudonym, “Salmonella Fitzgerald”. Krishna relies heavily on his experience and training in jazz, electronic music and other eclectic forms of music, to create compositions that are original, fresh, and inspiring.

2012 has truly started out with a bang for Krishna. Manchester Music Library, has just released "URBAN RENEWAL", his 12 track URBAN/HIP HOP collection for broadcast. Covering everything from Acid Jazz, Crunk, Gangsta, Dubstep Rap, Oldschool, to Lo-fi and Chiptune. Browse the tracks and purchase here (Feb. 2012)

Krishna has just completed a collection of current Pop/Electro/dance tracks for the BUZZ MUSIC LIBRARY. This collection covers the styles of current artists, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Deadmaus, as well as hardcore dustup and techno. This collection is a welcome addition to Krishna's first effort for Buzz, INDIAN POP. Check out the music here (Feb. 2012)

Krishna recently completed over thirty tracks for the renowned Manchester Music Library. These broadcast-ready tracks are available by musical genre and can be licensed at various levels. (Feb. 2011)

Krishna scored Enlighten Up!, in which filmmaker Kate Churchill is determined to prove that yoga can transform anyone. Nick Rosen is skeptical but agrees to be her guinea pig. Kate immerses Nick in yoga, and follows him around the world as he examines the good, the bad and the ugly of yoga. The two encounter celebrity yogis, true believers, kooks and world-renowned gurus. Tensions run high as Nick’s transformational progress lags and Kate’s plan crumbles. What unfolds and what they discover is not what they expected.

The musical score runs the gamut – jazz, electronica, symphonic, metal, and traditional Indian music. Enlighten up! is now available on DVD at Amazon.
